Kopi Nalar: It’s Been A While.

Does anyone agree with me that no matter where we are right now in life, there’s this tiny curiosity that keeps on popping out (whether from within, or from our surroundings) and asks us about “What’s Next?” It seems like people are so expectant with the progress you make that by the time you stop or seem to show no progress in life, you’ll be considered a misfit.

Is it true that life is only about moving forward and transitioning from one “what’s next” to another? Is it true that people tend to applaud those people who jump into one opportunity to another simply because they look courageous, while at the same time they are actually careless and unprepared?

The over–glorified concept of having something “new”, being a “new” person, or anything that has the word “NEW” can actually be something dangerous for us if we are not wise enough to discern. Once we are attracted to whatever “new” that comes our way, we tend to move with the highest speed without maximum protection and preparation simply because we are a sucker for excitement.

Speaking of new, meet one of the newest coffee in town.

What about hitting the brakes? What about moving just a little bit slower? What about saying no for a better “new” that we ultimately want instead of what we temporarily want?

Sorry for the long intro. I guess it’s just been a while since I poured out my (sometimes) too complex thoughts into one of my posts. Just like the fact that it’s been a while for both of us to spend one weekend only to go explore and try out new places in this city.

Just last weekend, we stumbled upon this new coffee shop in South Jakarta, along with some of friends. The name is Kopi Nalar (reasoning), and it was having a soft opening. The place was a 25 percent alfresco area, 25 percent smoking room with glass rooftops and large window panes, and 50 percent of a indoor seating with white walls and modern interior.

One of their plus points: Plugs. Everywhere.

When we got there, the smoking room was empty (none of us smokes though haha), so we invaded it like its a lounge reserved exclusively just for us. The room was filled with two cozy couches and plenty of bean bags!

After ordering our choices of drinks and desserts, we settled in comfortably and spent about 3-4 hours there talking. It felt like crashing into one of your friends’ house during holidays where you got nothing to do for the whole day, accompanied by bowls of chips and boxes of pizza. It was priceless! As someone who has Quality Time for his love language, this kind of hangout day with friends is a total heart-filling moment.

Some of my favorite Sunday crew.

What’s interesting about their coffee menu is that they have this so-called “healthy choice” of coffee. The “A Cup of Sense” menu is a mixture of coffee latte with healthy ingredients like granola, walnuts, almond, and honey. Surely I went for the new one and picked the almond and honey to complete my coffee o’clock.

Grills Gone Wild at AB Steak by Chef Akira Back!

Jakarta people, “meat” the newest creation of Chef Akira Back, AB Steak! Located in the Mezzanine Floor of MD Place Building, AB Steak brings a revolutionary modern Korean Steakhouse that incorporates American style steakhouse. This innovative steakhouse has been developed by Chef Back for quite some times and we are lucky to be chosen as the first city to have AB Steak. TODAY (April 23rd), this restaurants opens its doors for the first time and ready to bring you a whole ‘notha level of luncheon/dining experience!

Big thanks to Astrid Suryatenggara (our favorite super bubbly “Cici”) for giving us the preview of AB Steak’s wide range of menu along with several other bloggers and media friends. DR & I were lucky enough to taste some of their highlighted menus a week before the official opening.

Unlike its “brother”, the Akira Back, AB Steak offers a dim-lighted ambience with black and grey dominated the interior. Size-wise, it’s less spacious compared to Akira Back however it provides a comfortable “private” atmosphere for me. The moment a waiter opened its wooden front door for me, I was greeted by a window glass on my right side, which shows three refrigerators where they dry-aged the beef.

Honestly, I came with no expectation. Wait, on a second thought, I came with one and only expectation. Every time Astrid invites me to one of her events, I’d go home in a food comma condition. So that’s kinda my expectation. To get bloated with huge portions of meats, and glorified grilled wagyu. Apparently, that’s not the scenario.

The whole luncheon experience was like a well-scripted action slash sci-fi movie, where you get a lot of teasing introduction that somehow drags you into wanting for the climax point of the whole story to be revealed. Yet, the director decides to keep you waiting, just for a little longer. That’s how AB Steak created the momentum on this luncheon. They served like 7 appetizers, only to tickle our tastebuds, before finally releasing the main course to our tables.

Let’s get started!

The Perks of Being Twenty Gerson Henry Demas Ryan AB Steak Akira Back Grills Gone Wild Foodies Lifestyle Restaurant Japanese Foods Jakarta Indonesia 10
Scallop Crudo. 135k.

Our luncheon was opened with a bowl of fresh scallop (crudo means raw in Spanish), served with chive & kimchee gel, jicama (read: hee-cama, a Mexican yam bean), truffled yuja (citrus) soy. If you’re into a sour & tangy flavor, this one is definitely for you.

Amberjack “Carpaccio”. 195k.

Carpaccio, according to Mr. Wiki, is a dish of raw meat or fish, thinly sliced or pounded thin and served mainly as an appetizer. In AB Steak, they serve delightful pink Amberjack meats, with blood orange soy, slices of oranges, plus roasted Jalapeno salsa! The flavor was simply as exotic as the presentation.

The Perks of Being Twenty Gerson Henry Demas Ryan AB Steak Akira Back Grills Gone Wild Foodies Lifestyle Restaurant Japanese Foods Jakarta Indonesia 13

Shitake Croquette. 225k.

This is my favorite! And probably, everyone else’s on my table. Deep fried croquette placed on top of smoked potato foam, topped with sweet shrimp gejang, sea urchin, and caviar!

The Perks of Being Twenty Gerson Henry Demas Ryan AB Steak Akira Back Grills Gone Wild Foodies Lifestyle Restaurant Japanese Foods Jakarta Indonesia 03

Black Mussels. 135k.

This one is also my favorite. In AB Steak, they served this bowl of delicious black mussels with little meatballs, and what makes it unique is they serve it with crispy rice cake (tteobokki) and kochujang butter sauce. I completely forgot about tasting the tteobokki and meatballs because I was too hooked with the mussels!

The Perks of Being Twenty Gerson Henry Demas Ryan AB Steak Akira Back Grills Gone Wild Foodies Lifestyle Restaurant Japanese Foods Jakarta Indonesia 14
Steamed Bun. 150k.

Next one on my table was this set of three buns, topped with well-seasoned bbq duck, which was so tender, and seared foie gras that literally melts in my mouth. The scrumptious bun was gone in a single bite!

The Perks of Being Twenty Gerson Henry Demas Ryan AB Steak Akira Back Grills Gone Wild Foodies Lifestyle Restaurant Japanese Foods Jakarta Indonesia 21

Steak Tartare. 185k.

I’m not really a fan of bone marrow, not that I don’t like it but I’m always worried with the cholesterol level (haha). However, when this plate of raw wagyu was placed before me, I couldn’t resist not to taste it. The freshness of raw beef mixed with the buttery bone marrow was indeed a sinful indulgence!

The Perks of Being Twenty Gerson Henry Demas Ryan AB Steak Akira Back Grills Gone Wild Foodies Lifestyle Restaurant Japanese Foods Jakarta Indonesia 15

AB’s Caesar. 110k.

Look at that fat salmon, served with grilled romaine, herbed yoghurt caesar dressing and those tiny caramel macadamia. A plate of healthy foods balanced with tiny sweet treats!

Okay, after 7 various starter menus, I was more than ready to experience the real “Grill Gone Wild”!

The first one on the list was three juicy slices of Flat Iron Australian Wagyu  225k. Other than this mouth-watering goodness, they also have other Premium Wagyu selections, like Hokkaido “Snow” Rib Eye A5, Hokkaido “Snow NY Strip A4, Chuck Eye Steak A4, Rump A4, Knuckle A4, ranging from 185k to 850k per 100 grams.

The dipping sauces.

What made the whole Grills Gone Wild experience was even more delightful was their five different kinds of salt and dipping sauce. My favorite was the truffle salt and garlic salt! As for the dipping sauce, I love the bulgogi and soy sauce.

From this category, you can also order other various selections like the 60 days Whiskey Aged Bone-in Wagyu Ribeye MBS +6, 45 Days T-bone, 21 Days Kiwami Wagyu Top Sirloin 9+, and 15 Days Belgian White Tongue, ranging from 123k – 199k per 100grams.

Those three selections of meats were all equally delicious and juicy, especially because they served it medium rare, just the way I like it. One of the things that makes this steak house unique is the fact that you can have your meats exactly how you like it, because the grilling machine is right in front of you. However, with such advanced technology, you don’t have to worry about getting that smell of smoke on your hair and clothes.

By the way, if you asked me which one is my favorite, I’d answer the Flat Iron Australian Wagyu! I would definitely come back for more, perhaps on a special occasion like a romantic dinner? Uhm, sadly not in anytime soon.

Anyways, after 7 starters and 3 main course menus, AB Steak continued to pamper us with 3 desserts!

Coconut Mochi Cake. 60k.

Love the moist texture and chewy mochi cake, plus the salted caramel popcorn and macadamia! DR was already back to his office by the time they served the desserts. My new foodies friend, @yennymakanmulu was being super kind as she let me finish the whole plate. After the cake, they also let us have a taste of the super yummy Molten Chocolate Souffle, which was to die for! New Taste to Dine at Cassis Kitchen!

People think that the life of a blogger is only filled with attending events and going for a fun trip, but we can assure you, it’s not just about that. Well, it’s partly true, but it’s not the whole truth. Anyway, a few weeks ago, while I had a solo trip to East Java, which was filled with mostly clouds and mist, DR had the privilege of a tasteful luncheon experience at Cassis Kitchen. Last week, we kinda switched place. While he had a fun vacation to (also) East Java (we’ll share it to you about both version of the trip soon), I had the privilege to enjoy Cassis Kitchen’s  new 2-course menu, which was launched at the end of February.

I’m not gonna talk a lot about the foods or the menu, I’m just gonna let the photos speak to you and encourage you to quickly reserve a table at Cassis Kitchen to taste it yourself!

the-perks-of-being-twenty-cassis-kitchen-henry-gerson-demas-ryan-restaurant-foodies-lifestyle-jakarta-indonesia-fine-dining-casual-lunch-dinner-33

Table situation.

So the 2-course menu is filled with several selection of starters and main courses menu. The first on the list was, Parsnip Soup, which is more like a bowl of comfort, showered with garlic croutons and chives as toppings.

The second one on the starter was one my favorite! The crab toast that serves as a perfect choice to open your meal. Imagine having an abundant portion of juicy crab meats as a spread for your toast. This is exactly why you should experience the unordinary brunch/luncheon/dinner at Cassis Kitchen as they are always on the road of creating new menu. And by the way, this is only the second menu. More photos of delicious meals will tease you as you scroll down through this post.

Now, for the last choice of the starter menu was the Churrasco Style Wagyu. This one is also a must have. Where else can you have a plate of rare wagyu beef, cooked with ponzu (citrun-based sauce) and chimicchurri sauce, topped with fried shallots as an appetizer?

Churrasco Style Wagyu

While the starter consists of three different choices, the main course consists of 9 different delicacies served in a satisfying portion. First up, which is also one of the meals that I’m gonna recommend to you, is the Seafood Risotto, a plate of seafood (scallop, prawn, and squid) party with risotto as their host, cooked together with mascarpone and basil oil.

Second and third one is the Spaghetti Carbonara and Beef Bolognese. As you can see in the pictures, both are covered in a rich portion of grated parmesan cheese. The carbonara is topped with green peas and poached egg, while the bolognese is served with penne, spicy beef ragout and herbs. These two would definitely satisfy your craving of Italian foods!

Now if you’re more of a big bite kind of foodie, you should really try their huge portion of Fish and Chips (beer battered dory) served with french fries and tartare sauce, and also the CK Cheese Burger, which is a double beef patties, placed within sesame brioche buns, and also served with french fries. It’s finger-lickin’ good!

The next three are all for you seafood freaks. The first one is Patagonian Tootfish, placed artistically on top of cauliflower puree and showered with exotic mango salsa that brings a an ultimate freshness to the flavor. Another “must try” in Cassis Kitchen’s new menu is the Steamed Monkfish, which was made of pancetta, braised short ribs, parsnip puree and port jus. This one does not only give you a great taste, but it also gives you an eye-pleasing plating. You surely want to snap it for your Instagram.

If you’re a Lobster lover, then the Roasted Lobster Tail is what you should order next. It’s cooked perfectly with truffle chicken cream baby cos and completed with sweet potato veloutte, which doesn’t only perfected the flavor but also the whole look of the plating as the yellow color pop ups beautifully in the midst of all the other colors.

Last but  not least on the main course list is the Curry Chicken Kiev, the name says it all I suppose. However, when the food came out, I secretly wondered about the curry sauce. Where is it? I didn’t see any. Apparently you have to slice open the Curry Chicken Kiev to find the curry sauce!

Now to complete the 2-course menu, you can order their newly launched fashion-inspired cocktails, which came in a very creative packaging. They have the Elyx Kits, (the pink cocktail) served inside an acrylic music box, the Mademoiselle which comes in a headless mini mannequin, Fashion Victim, that literally comes in a small leather bag! Lunch at Cassis Kitchen Is Not Your Everyday Ordinary Lunch

Mondays could be really dreadful, especially if it’s a Monday full of meetings. Luckily, one of those meetings took place at Cassis Kitchen, where I had one of the best lunch experience in my whole life. No kidding, no exaggeration.

I walked in with a full stomach, came out bloated. I couldn’t resist the temptation to finish every plate that they served to my table. Especially, since everything was wrapped up in a 4 course meal! But 4 wasn’t the number of plates that I remembered served on my table. My lunch came with complementary openers such as this cold Granita Blackcurrant and a wooden tray of bread and butter.

Ice coffee for more meetings to come.

I quickly chose Ice Coffee to fuel me for more meetings, but it wasn’t enough compared to the bloated stomach that left me feeling sleepy after lunch. My lunch experience carried on to a plate of Tuna Salad that was served with poached beetroot, shaved parmesan, aragula and truffle soy vinaigrette.  The tuna was so chewy, once I finished the whole plate, I was craving for more.

Luckily, I didn’t ask for more because what came next was even more pleasing. It was a bowl of Jerusalem Artichoke Soup. It was warm and savoury, perfect for a rainy weather. While I was enjoying my soup, my lunch buddy chose a bowl of Caesar Salad that looked very pleasing to the eye.

Jerusalem Artichoke Soup.

My lunch was far from over. Since I was done with the openers, I was then ready for a plate of Crispy Pork Belly that I was eyeing for since the first look of the menu!

I fell in love at the first sight of my pork belly. It was so sinful but tasteful at the same time. The first look will give you an excited feeling that came with a reminder to exercise harder after this plate!

Winter Bowl.

After satisfying bites of pork belly, I was served with Winter Bowl, the last of all the 4 course meal. It was a bowl of ice cream served with goji berry, strawberry and mandarin orange. It was a fresh ending to my lunch experience, or so I thought.

Not long after, a waiter came with this huge cotton candy that is said to be a signature end-meal for Cassis Kitchen. I came alone, how was I supposed to finish the whole thing?

Chewy and squishy.

If you aren’t as single as I am, you should take some time to visit Cassis Kitchen for their Valentine specials. They will have Radhini on stage and their excellent wine served on your dinner table. But without all of that, Cassis Kitchen is still a splendid restaurant for your lunch meeting or for you to wind down after work!

Romantic Italian Style Dinner at Ristorante de Valentino.

Have you ever resist the temptation to eat in extreme hunger just because you were about to have a delightful luncheon? That was me few weeks ago. I woke up feeling very hungry, yet I decided to skip breakfast and saved up extra space in my tummy to experience authentic Italian cuisines in Ristorante de Valentino.

Big thanks to Astrid Suryatenggara, who had warmly invited us for a casual lunch to this fine dining restaurant, which is only in a walking distance from where I live. Sadly, DR couldn’t join us as he was feeling unwell at home.

A little warning before you scroll through this post, some of the photos below might cause you a sudden craving of delightful Italian meals. Although, I gotta be honest, once I’ve tried Valentino’s dishes, I find it kinda hard for me to enjoy pastas in other restaurants. What they served was beyond remarkable. The experience did not only spoiled my tastebud as it was definitely another level of indulgence.

Normally, this munching machine would finish everything that is in front of him. But this time, I had to resist finishing the whole basket because Astrid warned me that we still have more food to taste.

Valentino’s Home Made Bread Sticks with Green Dipping Sauce

Following the bread basket was their “Misto di Antipasti” (a tasting plater of fried calamari, chicken liver pâté, bruschetta). I’m not really a fan of any meal that is made of chicken liver as I can’t find it as something that is pleasingly tasteful. But this time, I ended up finishing the whole pâté!

Chicken Liver Pâté. Sorry for the blurry photo, I was probably rushing to get a good photo before finishing the whole plate.

Bruschetta

Next up was the “Affettati Misti” (cold cut platter of salami, pancetta and mortadella ham). A cold cut platter is one of the most Italian iconic ways to start a luncheon. It’s an assortment of cured meats, thinly sliced and arranged artistically on a serving platter. It’s definitely a delicious way to start a meal. In Valentino, they served the meat with a finger-lickin’ good bread sticks. The shape reminded me of Cakwe (Chinese fried dough), yet it’s a lot thinner and tastier.

Cold Cut Platter

Three different dishes only for a starter. If my tummy could speak, it would have screamed excitingly the moment a waiter came into our dining room with three big plates of pasta in his hands.

The first one, which is my favorite, was “Fettucine Al Granchio” (Valentinos’ signature squid ink fettuccini with crabmeat in a creamy tomato sauce). I would have finished the whole plate in a few minute, if I didn’t remember that there were still two other plates. The second one was “Linguine Aglio Olio Fruti Di Mare” (Seafood Aglio Olio) and “Linguine Carbonara”. The carbonara was to die for as it was served with super crunchy slices of pork bacon as toppings!

Carbonara with Pork Bacon

All the pastas were “al dente“, if I may say. In Italian, it means “to the tooth”, used to describe the point of cooking when pasta becomes softer, yet not too soft, leaving still a bite to it. A perfect pasta is always cooked al dente, making it easier to be digested.

Food comma was not the right term I would use to describe how I felt after those three appetizers and another three plates of main courses. I was drunk with foods.

Our table situation

Red chairs poppin out elegantly from behind each table.

The next thing that would attack you after a super satisfying meals is a sleepiness. I literally had to stand up and walk around to avoid falling asleep only a few minutes I had my last spoon of pasta. Being the explorer that I always am, I started to wander around the restaurant which is dominated by grey table cloths and numerous red chairs, popping out from behind the table. This fine dining restaurant is interiorized with bricked walls, plenty of private dining rooms, a bar and a private room that can be rented for private parties.

After a little while, I decided to go back to my table, only to find a galore of sweet tooth treats (Chantilly cake and Tiramisu) waiting for me. I know that I said I was so filled up to the point I was a sleepyhead a paragraph ago. But, who could resist plates of mouthwatering desserts, right?

Tiramisu.

As I thought I couldn’t fill any more foods into my tummy, another meal was served on the table. Astrid was able to read my face expression, she comforted me saying, “Don’t worry it’s for takeaway.” And I laughed awkwardly with so much relieve.

So, Life Is Tough. Srsly? Think Again.

This is not one of our regular “coffee-shop-review” post, just in case the title is bugging you. Here’s a post that is inspired by the current train of thoughts I’ve been having these past few weeks.

As I sat down, waiting for my friends to come, in SRSLY Coffee, I can’t help but having a little discussion with my own thoughts about the particular statement I used in the title. “Life is tough,” we secretly uttered this sentence, almost automatically, when life doesn’t happen the way we expect it to be. There are times when I’m still guilty of subconsciously letting this thought popped up on the surface. Even when facing mere temporary problems as simple as being stuck in the traffic.

In a world that (not only offers, but also) praises instant and immediate results, it’s very easy for us to forget and undermine the value of process. We forget to learn the art of cultivating patience. The society is no longer able to see the importance of waiting. We see waiting as a loss, a damage or a waste of our “oh-so-valuable” time.

When we want something, we want it right away, we want it our way. If things don’t happen according to our timeline and expectation, we easily conclude that life happens. Reality bites. And then, we post it on our social media, expecting attention and empathy from others to help us feel good about ourselves again.

the-perks-of-being-twenty-the-perks-of-being-20-henry-gerson-demas-ryan-lifestyle-travel-foodies-coffee-shop-srslycoffee-jakarta-04

I have a thing for white decoration.

If only we can stop for a while before we let our emotions take control of everything and lead us into a conclusion that life is tough, probably we’ll be able to see that life is not really that tough. Especially when you still have a fine working smartphone to read this post.

That was when I looked up and chuckled. Because, it seemed like the big signage before me was laughing at the conversation that happened in my mind. SRSLY? One fine coffee shop to sit and unwind. One person with one busy thought. One question, seriously?

the-perks-of-being-twenty-the-perks-of-being-20-henry-gerson-demas-ryan-lifestyle-travel-foodies-coffee-shop-srslycoffee-jakarta-03

SRSLY?

People use speed as a benchmark of achievement. No wonder we love those singing contest reality show. No wonder some people love to have instant followers and likes. And so we are trapped in an endless competition of being the fastest.

The fastest to be in a relationship, even after one suffered a painful break up. The fastest to have a date, thanks to Tinder. The fastest to purchase the newest gadget. The fastest to watch the newest movie. The fastest to quit a job and hop on to a new job in the name of pursuing passion. The fastest to get married, even when we still carry unresolved issues from the past.

People love to be on the fast lane as it comes with an adrenaline rush. But we often forget, that moving in a high speed can cause us a serious damage. That is why the art of pausing, or even stopping and taking a break need to be mastered.

the-perks-of-being-twenty-the-perks-of-being-20-henry-gerson-demas-ryan-lifestyle-travel-foodies-coffee-shop-srslycoffee-jakarta-07

Have you ever tried putting yourself in other people’s shoes?

When you are moving too fast, you have the potential to end up in a huge crash, right? What if those unanswered prayers, or unmet wants and needs are actually a form of divine protection that have been actually saving you, preventing you from a major crash? Try see it from a different angle. Have you tried to see “not getting what you want” as a blessing in disguise?

A blessing that prevent you from stepping into a mess.
A blessing that prevent you from marrying the wrong person.
A blessing that prevent you from taking the wrong career path.

A blessing that prevent you from another heart break.

One sad news that literally tore my heart apart and made me cry arrived during the drafting of this post. The pretty little warrior, Daphne (the baby girl that we visited during our last visit to Singapore), passed away (on Wednesday morning). His dad replied my text still being all-inspiring, believing that Daphne is now in a better condition, playing happily in heaven. Even when I visited them at the funeral, they both welcomed me still with the warm smiles I saw when we came visited them in the hospital.

Through Daphne’s life, and the uncommon great faith of her parents, I’m being reminded again about all this. From them, I learn the true meaning of giving my best in dealing with problems that come into my life. From them, I learn the true meaning of being strong. From them, I learn to have a bigger faith, the kind of faith that refuse to give up.

When you think that your life is tough, stop, pause, and ask this to yourself: “Is it really? Have I tried my best? How long have I been praying and fighting for miracles to come? Have I failed to see other options? Have I tried putting myself in other people’s shoes?”

the-perks-of-being-twenty-the-perks-of-being-20-henry-gerson-demas-ryan-lifestyle-travel-foodies-coffee-shop-srslycoffee-jakarta-09

Busy. Busy. Busy. Hail to the fast lane society!

Before we get too fast in concluding that life is tough, why don’t we stop and start to look at the blessing that we have? Why don’t we start being grateful instead?

Let’s make this as part of our lifestyle. Lifestyle is not only about spending what you have on what would make you look cool. It can be a way of living that would add value and give good influence to those around you. That’s what lifestyle is. At least, that’s how we see it.

the-perks-of-being-twenty-the-perks-of-being-20-henry-gerson-demas-ryan-lifestyle-travel-foodies-coffee-shop-srslycoffee-jakarta-05
Lifestyle is more than just purchasing a cup of coffee.

A Tasty Set of New Food from Bakerzin!

Yes, you saw it right. I guess that’s what keeps me coming back to Bakerzin. I know I’ve written my brunch experience in Bakerzin before, but how can I keep such a good news from you?

So last December, in the middle of dreading last days of work before the holiday season, I was surprised by Bakerzin with these new menu they have prepared for brunch. As I entered Kota Kasablanka and headed to Bakerzin, my head was craving for sweet desserts. To my surprise, what awaits me were a lot of savoury food. It seemed to me that Bakerzin was trying to get out from their comfort zone, which has always been sweet desserts and cakes.

First, check out these eclairs.

A plate of savoury eclairs.

While eclairs are best known to be sweet, Bakerzin came out of the box and created a set of savoury eclairs. They have rendang, salmon and chicken as the topping. To me, it was a wonderful opener! These finger food was very much right to start the day with something light.

Now for the main course, these were some of my options.

Smoked Beef Penne.

Take a look at those smoked beef and beef bacon covered in creamy sauce. ❤

Dory with lemon cream.

There were simply too many choices!

It was too confusing for me. It was probably one of the hardest brunch decision I had to make at 10 AM. Everything on the menu looked so good!

After much considerations, I decided to try Dory With Lemon Cream. It was tasty in every bite! The dory fish was cooked perfectly soft and the potato waffle added a bit of crunchiness into the texture.

Just as I thought I was done, they told me that as their newest creation, they had brought a bit of Japanese into this western restaurant. They are now serving Poke Bowl!

savory-food-ayam-kecombrang-rendang-eclair-tuna-wasabi-poke-bowl-salmon-sashimi-kota-kasablanka-jakarta-foodies-dory-with-lemon-cream-smoked-beef-penne-eclair-menu-dessert-brunch-the-perks-of-being-20

Poke Bowl in Bakerzin?!

Now if you don’t know, a Poke Bowl is a bowl filled with raw salmon, avocado and a few other fresh vegetables mixed with tasty ingredients. I couldn’t just settle for a spoon!

Don’t wait any longer. You really need to visit any Bakerzin restaurant as soon as they still have these food on the menu.

Keep exploring,

DR. (@demasryan)
