Life is a series of waiting. You travel from one waiting room to another. You move from one pit stop to the next one. How many of you twenty something can relate to that? Yes, this best 10 years of life is the prime time for us to explore life and discover ourselves. But, at the same time, it’s kind of the longest waiting “season” (so far). I don’t know about you, but I often wake up in the morning with my heads filled with the “WHEN” questions.
A big dream, a series of wishes, a list of prayers and one big WHEN. When are those things going to happen? How much longer should I give it a try? When do I know that it’s the one or not?
I spent the past two weeks trying not to focus on the when, nor on the future, but on the now. It’s a little bit tough, I admit. Particularly, with the Ied Mubarak holiday coming my way. I literally woke up counting down the days to holiday, LOL. And while I’m still stuck in the office, some of my friends, including DR, are having a good time in Melbourne. This got me longing desperately to skip the weekdays and just fast forward to my upcoming Singapore trip with DR. Lastly, I had also been waiting for my penny board to come. Yes! Finally, after envying DR for quite a while now, I got my own board.
Well, that’s most of my stories. What’s yours? What is it that you are waiting for at the moment? What is it that you are longing to happen in your life? Whatever it is, I guess the best thing that you can do right now is to live your present life the fullest and let the future take care of itself. If you’re doing what’s right and needs to be done in the present, there is no need to worry about waiting for the best result to unfold before you.
Anyways, speaking of waiting, just a couple weeks ago we stumbled upon this new coffee shop that is just perfect for you to sit and wait for your next appointment, or to simply wait for the traffic to get better. Ladies and Gents, we present to you Fillmore Coffee, located at Jl. H.Sidik No.7, Karet Kuningan.
The two stories coffee shop is a bit hidden at the back of Jakarta’s most crowded areas (Sudirman, Kasablanka, Kuningan). If you are stuck in a bad traffic at one of those three areas, you might wanna hide at Fillmore.
The moment I pushed its front door open, Fillmore caught my attention as it offered a very homey ambience. I decided to check out the second floor and was pretty surprised to find a wooden-floored alfresco area decorated with a mini garden that would make you feel like you’re in Bandung, or perhaps Bali. Especially, if you sit there when Jakarta decides to show its beautiful afternoon blue sky (don’t give me that skeptic look, we do have it sometimes).
It was a bit crowded at first but we finally got to sit down comfortably at the first floor area. DR ordered an iced black coffee while I ordered a cup of Piccolo. We sat down for a good half an hour with our friends before we decided to do some photo opp! It’s one of those days when we got too comfortable going out just wearing tee, jeans and sneakers. And as usual, DR went with black, while I went with white. Do you think we need more colors in our wardrobe?
