Last week, I had a chance to visit Pantai Indah Kapuk for a lunch with my best friends, at Tim Ho Wan. After such a pleasant lunch, we decided to try this newly opened gelateria called Lateria. Hey that rhymes.
I know this might not be the best timing for some of you to crave for ice cream, since it has been raining all week. But I tell you what, there’s no such thing as bad timing when it comes to ice cream.
As an ice cream freak, I could enjoy eating ice cream even in a coldest day. From Ragusa, to Grom, Gelato Messina to Anita Gelato and even from McDonald’s to Burger King. Yes, my sweet tooth could be overly demanding, yet very easy to please at times.
I still remember how I would jump in excitement every time my mom stopped a Wall’s ice cream cart in front of our house and let me pick my favorite Paddle Pop or Conello. I remember how happy I was every time my Dad let me have a Sundae or ice cream cone at McD’s after I finished my Happy Meal. Today, I still get the thrill to the idea of having those scoops of happiness.
I was very impressed with the interior. It portrays an urban and semi industrial look with mural illustration painted on each wall and wooden furnitures for their seating area.
The first time I saw their display I gasped. They have such good-looking gelato, I almost tried everything. After a few minutes of having a hard time deciding, I went with Say Cheese (cheese cake, doughtnut, brown sugar) and Deez Nutz (hazelnut, chocolate crunch and homemade nutella). One of my friends ordered Deez Nutz as well, mixed with Oreogasm. My verdict? 9/10. Latteria is probably the closest thing to an International-franchised gelato that I could find in Jakarta.
I would definitely come back to try more flavors!
Write to you later,
