So Coldplay just released their new single and music video last week, Hymn For The Weekend, from their latest album, A Head Full of Dreams. It’s kinda amazing to see how Chris Martin and the gank has changed a lot in their musicality, but yet still manage to offer an all fresh tunes with rich sounds and catchy lyrics put together in one album.
I’ve been listening to their music since I was still in middle school. I still remember how they make such great debut with Yellow, followed with other singles like Shiver and Trouble. They used to be a great companion for my melancholic days, they were all gloomy and grey.
But look at them now. They’re all colorful and shouting happiness in almost of the song they put in the album. My favorites are: A Life of Adventure, Everglow, Army of One, Up&Up, and of course Hymn For The Weekend.
When I checked out their new music video, I was hooked. It was ethnically rich, and made me want to go explore India immediately haha (and secretly envying DR’s latest trip to India). I love that they use the color powder (though I personally think it’s a little late) which gives such a festive mood, and definitely matches the title. It’s like mood booster that you need to embrace a fun weekend. And not to forget, that Queen B is in the video!
If you haven’t bought the album, you should. Better late than never. By the way, speaking of Coldplay and Beyonce, how many of you enjoyed watching their performance at Super Bowl Half Time Show today? I got all emotional seeing how music brings people together.
Write to you letter,
