What would you do on a fine Saturday afternoon? If you ask me, my answer would be taking things as easy as pie. Approaching a long weekend, a chance to have my laid back Saturday came. Another person who was up to the idea was of course HG, who is mostly keen on exploring new places rather than being at home.
After a little search, I told HG about the Wall of Africa. Located in the heart of South Jakarta, this wall was painted in late 2015 to present a positive image of Africa to the citizens of Jakarta.
It sounded like a good idea! I took my favorite denim jacket and drove to meet my fashionable buddy, HG, who was in his denim vest.
Unexpectedly, the wall was not as wide as we thought it would be. Unexpectedly, we found an unlocked gate to a spiral staircase that lead us to a freaking cozy rooftop! No one was there, to stop us. Honestly, it was one of my rare moments of breaking and entering. No worries, nothing was broken or stolen by us, except for these photos!
That day we talked for hours. It wasn’t just another talk, it was a quality talk. The one where we talked about life, the good and the bad. Bottom line, frankly, we were quite frustrated by how some of the people we know personally spend their 20s. We care about these people and we want to help them enjoy their 20s with knowing their vision, having enough courage to pursue it and balance their life. I promise, more about it on one of our blog post soon.
That laid back Saturday ended with a quick photo before we head back down cautiously, trying not to be spotted by anyone. Top tip, a spontaneous weekend with a good buddy get you ready for the upcoming week.
Oh and by the way, happy Chinese New Year from both of us! HG isn’t celebrating, but I am psyched to collect my red envelope!
